Answers from a video transcript, with exact timestamps.

Paste an SRT or VTT transcript you're allowed to use, ask one question, and get a short answer. Each cited quote and timestamp is checked against your transcript before you're charged. Transcripts only: video links alone are not supported.

Price: 10 credits = $0.05 per successful answer, taken from the $5 / 1,000-credit API pack. Nothing is charged for invalid input, too few credits, service failures, answers that fail the quote check, or questions the transcript can't answer.

What you can send

  • A timed transcript in SRT or VTT, up to 40 KB, 800 segments and 30 minutes of video.
  • One question, 5–500 characters. Answers are at most about 120 words with up to 5 citations.
  • An optional https source URL. YouTube links get t= seconds; other links get a #t= fragment.
  • Video links alone are not supported yet. ToolHund doesn't download videos or fetch captions, so you need to send the transcript yourself.

What the answer means

What we check: every cited quote must appear in the segment it points to, and every timestamp comes from your file. What we don't check: whether the AI-written answer interprets those quotes correctly, whether claims in the video are true, or whether the transcript belongs to the URL you give. The AI is told to treat transcript text as content, not instructions, but that can't be guaranteed; the quote check limits what a bad transcript can make the answer cite.

Billing, refunds and data

  • Each successful answer uses 10 credits from a $5 / 1,000-credit pack ($0.005 per credit), so $0.05. Monthly subscription keys and test keys don't work here.
  • Credits are held while the answer is prepared and returned if it fails. If we can't confirm the outcome, the response says billing_status: unknown with a request ID; retry with the same Idempotency-Key or check GET /api/v1/video-research/{id}. Holds that never finish are refunded automatically within about an hour.
  • If you think you were charged for a failed answer, email toolhund@outlook.com with the result ID and we'll return the credits.
  • We don't store transcripts. Results (answer, excerpts, timestamps) are deleted after 30 days; after that only a record that the request was charged remains, so the same request ID returns result_expired instead of charging again. Results can only be read with an API key from the same account.
