Editorial policy
ToolHund is a curated, opinionated directory. Coverage, scores and rankings are decided by our editors — never by sponsors, affiliates or vendors.
Selection
We add tools that (a) genuinely use AI or are core to an AI workflow, (b) are shipping and reachable, and (c) have enough surface area to review honestly. Submissions are welcome via /submit; acceptance is at editorial discretion and is not affected by payment.
Independence
- No vendor may pay to change a tool's ToolHund Score, ranking, or comparison outcome.
- Sponsored slots are labelled "Sponsored" or "Featured" every time they appear.
- Affiliate links are used broadly and never used as a tie-breaker in rankings.
- Editors disclose personal relationships with vendors before writing about them.
How we test
Editors sign up (usually on the free plan) and run each tool through the tasks it advertises. Where a tool has no free plan, we use trial access, publicly documented behaviour, or vendor-provided demos — always disclosed on the tool's page.
Community reviews
Reviews require a signed-in account. We remove reviews that are clearly spam, contain personal attacks, or that we have reason to believe were incentivised. Aggregate community ratings are only shown after a tool has at least 5 reviews. See the full rubric in /methodology.
Corrections
We publish corrections when a factual error is confirmed. Reach us at hello@toolhund.com or via the "Suggest a correction" button on any tool page. Verified fixes ship within 48 hours.
Takedown & disputes
Vendors may request removal of their listing. We honour verified requests from an authorised vendor contact within 7 days. Disputes over facts are resolved by editors after reviewing the evidence.
