How the ToolHund Score works
Every tool on ToolHund gets a single 0–100 number so you can compare at a glance. Here's exactly what goes into it.
The five inputs
- Real-world fit — does it actually solve the job people show up for?
- Pricing transparency — clear, fair, honest about limits.
- Feature depth — capability vs. the leader in its category.
- Shipping cadence — is the team still improving the product?
- Community sentiment — public reviews, Reddit, X, our own readers.
What never affects the score
Paid placements, affiliate deals, and submission fees. Advertisers can't see or influence rankings. If we ever feature a tool because we were paid, the card says Featured or Sponsored.
How often we update
Scores are reviewed weekly. Major model launches and pricing changes trigger immediate re-scoring.
